Moya Malcolm (she, her) is an educator specializing in antiracist and social justice education, postsecondary access for low-income/first-generation students, immigrant youth, and students of color; school–community–university partnerships that strengthen K–16 pathways; and supporting minoritized students in higher education through asset-based programming.
Dr. Malcolm has over 15 years of experience serving ethnically diverse middle and high school students and families in the Washington, DC, area. During these years, Moya worked as a middle school counselor in Montgomery County, MD, before transitioning to the University of Maryland (UMD) where she worked with Pre-College Programs (Upward Bound) and College Park Scholars.
Dr. Malcolm currently serves as the interim director for the Center for Postsecondary Readiness and Success (CPRS), Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of College Access, instructor for the School of Education's Dual Enrollment Program, and Co-Principal Investigator on a psychometric study designing, developing, and testing the School Counseling Antiracist and Social Justice Self-Efficacy Scale. Through these efforts, she continues to advance research and practice that promote educational equity and opportunity across the K–16 spectrum.
