Bio
David Osborne is the Director of Energy and Engineering and at been at AU since 2011. As director, he oversees the management of the Campus Central Plant and Operations (CPO), Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Campus Utility/Energy Conservation efforts (EA). Looking to FY27 Facilities Standards and Commissioning program management will be under his purview as well.
Before AU, David had a long career in energy engineering, construction, and facilities management. Having previously worked for Ameresco, Noreseco, Sentara Healthcare and the Army Corps of Engineer.
Having started up Facilities Management's Energy Department and Facilities Management's commissioning programs, he is proud of his team, the work they they have done and the contributions they have made to AU's central heating and cooling plants, utilities infrastructure reliability and AU's carbon neutrality.
When David is not at AU, you can find him outdoors boating and skiing with his family and friends. He also goes hiking with his dog named Bear. He is a big fan of Virginia Tech’s football team and a supporter of the Washington Commanders and Capitals.
