Fall 2025 Semester:

The Quanitative Tutoring Lab and Online Statistical Software Support will not be open on Monday, September 1^st, because of the Labor Day Holiday.

For the fall 2025 semester, those services will start on Tuesday, September 2^nd.

Quantitative Support:

Quantitative Support provides mathematics and statistics support to undergraduate and graduate students at American University. Tutors will help students learn course concepts, develop study strategies, complete practice exercises, and prepare for exams. Quantitative Support comprises two core services: the Math & Stats Lab and Online Statistical Software Support. 

Math & Stats Tutoring Lab:

Any AU student with a quantitative component in their coursework is welcome to visit the Lab in the Don Myers Building, room 103, for assistance regarding that component. They do not need an appointment to receive tutoring at the Lab.

The Tutoring Lab focuses on providing tutoring for the following courses:

• MATH-125 to MATH-222
• STAT-160 to STAT-320
• DATA-412

For the fall 2025 semester, the Tutoring Lab is open on the following days and times: 

• Mondays: 1 – 3 pm, 5:30 – 7 pm
• Tuesdays: 11:30 am – 2 pm, 5:30 – 7 pm
• Wednesdays: 1 – 7 pm
• Thursdays: 1 – 3 pm, 5:30 – 7 pm

Depending on tutors' availability and skillsets, they might be able to assist undergraduate and graduate students taking higher-level mathematics and statistics courses. Also, tutors might be able to assist students with quantitative concepts in coursework from other departments’ courses. 

Statistical Software Support:

Tutors will assist ALL students (undergraduate and graduate) online in a one-on-one setting enrolled in courses using and interpreting results from software such as Excel, Python, R, Stata, SPSS, SQL, SAS, and StatCrunch. Tutoring is held online at WCOnline.

For statistical software support at the graduate or undergraduate level, Online Statistical Software Support is by appointment.
