American University Washington College of Law congratulates Distinguished Professor of Law Angela J. Davis, recipient of the 33rd Annual Charlotte E. Ray Award from the Greater Washington Area Chapter (GWAC) of the Women Lawyers Division of the National Bar Association.

The law school’s curriculum features over 30 criminal law and related classes taught by 13 full-time criminal law faculty, as well as a criminal justice clinic, related immigration and domestic violence clinics, four journals/law reviews, two student organizations, and numerous externship and internship opportunities.

On Jan. 31, 2020, American University Washington College of Law welcomed Judy Shepard, mother of Matthew Shepard and president of the Matthew Shepard Foundation, to campus for “Rise Against Hate” to mark the 10th Anniversary of the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act.
