WCL courses use Canvas or myWCL to host online content — e.g. your course syllabus, readings, and any other "asynchronous" material your professor may assign. Please check your course syllabus and/or welcome email from your professor to confirm which platform will be used.
Canvas
You can log into Canvas at http://canvas.american.edu/ using your myAU credentials or via the "Online Course Login" link on this page.
MyWCL
You can log into MyWCL at https://my.wcl.american.edu/ using your myAU credentials.
Synchronous, or live, sessions (if any) will be on Zoom. Zoom links will be e-mailed to students and/or posted in the online platform specific to your course.
Students do not need Zoom accounts to participate in classes; however, you can create an account for free by signing in at https://american.zoom.us/ using username@american.edu as your email and your MyAU password.
If you need Canvas specific help, there are a few options:
- AU's Canvas Support page has a detailed list of FAQs, including how to access your Canvas courses on the go with the Canvas Student mobile app. This Getting Started with Canvas as a Student video is also helpful.
- Once you're in Canvas, you also have access to 24/7 Canvas support via email, chat, and phone. Support includes how to use specific tools and features in Canvas. Click the Help button located on the left navigation in Canvas or visit the AU ServiceNow portal at help.american.edu. You can also email canvas@american.edu or call 202-885-3904 for any AU Canvas specific questions.
If you need MyWCL specific help, please email myWCL@wcl.american.edu.
