Making the Most of Virtual Visit Opportunities

Webinars, student panels, simulated classes, virtual tours, and more: Experience AU your way, wherever you are in the world.

Are you curious to learn more about life at American University but not able to travel to Washington, DC for a campus tour or admissions event? We have you covered.

AU offers a wide range of virtual programs designed to help you explore our community and discover all that we have to offer. We know it's not always possible to attend in-person events, so we are committed to making sure every student has access to the information and connections they need to make the best possible decision for themselves during their college search.

This fall, we are offering more than 20 webinars on topics such as the application process, academic and special programs, and financial aid. These sessions are interactive, giving you the chance to ask questions directly to admissions representatives and connect with expert faculty and staff from across the university. If you cannot make it live, you can explore our library of recorded webinars whenever it works best for you.

Looking for something more tailored? We host webinars focused on specific academic programs, student panels where you can hear directly from current Eagles, and sessions designed for transfer and international applicants. You can even experience a simulated class with AU faculty. Interested in learning how institutions influence voting behavior? You can attend our School of Public Affairs’ simulated class, “Broken by Design: Presidentialism, Majoritarianism, and Voting Behavior in the US,” on October 9. Or, on October 27, engage in “Swiftonomics: The Economics of Taylor Swift” from our College of Arts and Sciences for a chance to see how our professors bring creativity and real-world issues into the classroom. Innovative courses like these are regularly part of the curriculum here at AU.
