You've Been Admitted to AU: Now What?
Here’s how to make the most of your New Eagle journey to AU.
Whether you applied Early Decision or Early Action and now you're in—Congratulations!—or you're still awaiting your Regular Decision notification, today we’re talking about the important milestones on your admitted student journey toward your first day at American University.
Attend New Eagle Events
New Eagle Day at American University is our most comprehensive event for admitted students and their families. It’s a full-day program offering opportunities to meet faculty, current students, and staff, take a campus tour, and attend sessions on academic programs, career services, study abroad, financial aid, and campus life. If you're traveling from out of state, or you are looking for a more immersive admitted student experience, don't miss out on this exciting event.

Our Explore and Soar program, on the other hand, is a half-day event tailored exclusively for admitted students. While still offering valuable insights into campus life, including faculty interactions and campus tours, it’s a shorter, more focused program. It’s a great option for families who are already familiar with AU or are seeking a condensed experience.

Our Regional New Eagle Welcomes (NEWS) are another great option for connecting with other admitted students and families without having to travel far from your state or hometown. Hosted in multiple cities around the country, these are off-campus events where we bring AU to you—providing the opportunity to connect with admissions representatives, learn about the admitted student class, and meet your future classmates and peers of AU. This is an excellent option for families who can’t make it to campus but still want to feel part of the AU community.
▶ Find a New Eagle Welcome Near You
Newly admitted students and families can also schedule a visit to AU for one of our eight admitted student information sessions and tours taking place this spring. Furthermore, we offer a variety of virtual events, covering topics like financial aid, student life, simulated classes, special academic programs, and academics.

With submitting your enrollment deposit and housing agreement, you’re already checking off an important task on your new student checklist.
