In the Moment Faculty Series: Dr. Sherri Williams
This initiative is designed as a monthly, campus-wide series that invites 4–6 faculty to commit to a rhythm of reflective, skill-building sessions that integrate teaching, research, and service. Each month, participants will deliver short “teach-in” segments followed by facilitated dialogue, modeling how higher education can hold space for complex and often polarizing topics without losing sight of shared learning goals.
The goal is not to reach consensus but to cultivate intellectual courage, empathy, and civic engagement through the practice of dialogue across difference. With support from the Office of Inclusive Excellence (OIE), this series will help faculty strengthen their ability to navigate political and cultural discourse in the classroom, foster inclusive pedagogical practice, and reinforce AU’s values of inquiry, integrity, and community.
