The Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) is American University's hub for faculty support and collaboration. It opened its doors in 1998 as the Center for Teaching Excellence; expanded its mission to become the Center for Teaching, Research & Learning in 2009; and in 2025, we launched the Center for Faculty Excellence as a reimagined center dedicated to supporting faculty at all stages of their careers, across teaching, research, service, and professional growth.
