The International Workshop in Sequential Methodologies (IWSM) meets every two years and brings together researchers and practitioners to explore the latest advancements in sequential statistics. The workshop provides a platform for presenting theoretical results, exploring practical applications, and addressing challenges in areas such as sequential testing, change-point detection, sequential estimation, selection and ranking, machine learning, artificial intelligence, clinical trials, adaptive design, stochastic quality and process control, optimal stopping, stochastic approximation, applied probability, mathematical finance, and related fields of probability, statistics, and applications. By covering a broad range of methodological and applied areas, IWSM aims to advance sequential statistical analysis and its diverse modern applications.

Registration and Travel Support

Limited funds are available to support registration and travel to the 9th IWSM for students and early-career researchers, made possible by a grant from the U.S. National Science Foundation. “Early career” is defined as within five years of receiving the terminal degree. Applications are accepted via the IWSM Travel Support Application form. As funds are limited, we cannot promise full coverage of all expenses.

Priority will be given to IWSM presenters; students are therefore encouraged to register poster presentations via this form if they are not already scheduled to give a talk.

The application deadline is May 1 (by which time applicants for the IMS travel support will have been notified of their outcomes). We aim to respond to applications by May 5.

The IWSM-2026 website will be updated regularly! Check back for the conference academic program, cultural program, and the schedule of plenary, invited, and contributed sessions.
